The Success of our associates - a bilateral project with FR Germany "Recovery of rare earth, Nd + Pr, from end-of-life NdFeB magnets: A new approach to recycling" approved for funding

Within the call for co-financing scientific and technological cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Germany for the project period 2021-2023, 10 projects were approved, out of a total of 27 proposed that met the conditions of the call. Among the approved projects is the project Recycling of rare earths, Nd + Pr, from NdFeB magnetic waste: A new approach, proposed by our colleague Dr. Vesna Cvetković. The partner from Germany is Prof. Bernd Friedrich of RWTH Aachen University. A list of all approved projects can be found at the link (in Serbian).

Congratulations to Dr. Vesna Cvetković and her team on the obtained bilateral project, and we wish them a lot of success in the realization of the planned research!

The success of our researchers - award for the best technological innovation in Serbia in 2020 in the category of student innovation

Jovanka Kovačina, a research trainee at ICTM, received the award on behalf of the team Anti-corrosion in the category Innovative Idea, for the best student innovation entitled: Production of environmentally friendly anti-corrosion agents for industrial coatings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s48F-3sOORQ

The success of our researchers - the conservation of the Gateway Arch monument

A scientific study by Serbian researchers will be used to conserve the Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Missouri, USA, the tallest monument made in the western hemisphere and the tallest arch ever built in the world. The study entitled "Corrosion characteristics of laser-cleaned surfaces on iron artefact" was done by researchers from the Central Institute for Conservation (CEC) and the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (ICTM), University of Belgrade. Studies by the French-Greek and Chinese research teams will also be used. The Politika newspaper followed this success (link in Serbian).
