Dr. Sonja Grubišić nominated as the Leader of WG2 of COST Action CA21101 COSY

As part of the goals for increasing the visibility and involvement of our Institute on the European Research Network, we are pleased to announce that dr. Sonja Grubišić was nominated in Brussels as the Leader of Working Group 2 (Molecular Motion in Confined Systems) of the COST Action CA21101 COSY: “Confined molecular systems: from a new generation of materials to the stars“ http://www.cost.eu/actions/CA21101 which has been approved in May 2022. A very good number of eminent European researchers and Professors (more than 70) have already joined WG2 of this COST Action.

This COST Action aims to provide a computationally and experimentally sound foundation for the fundamental understanding and control of confined molecular systems.

Promotion of ICTM and the BIOLAWEB project

The director of ICTM, Dr. Jasmina Stevanović, and the PI of the BIOLAWEB Twinning project, Dr. Miloš Ćirić, senior research associate, were guests in the show "Morning with Sanja" (“Jutro sa Sanjom“) on TV Studio B. In the conversation with Sanja Lubrdić, they promoted our institute, the BIOLAWEB project, and part of the research carried out at ICTM.

Presentation of the TMMagCat project in the TV show "Science to industry" (Nauka privredi)

The TMMagCat project (Tailoring Molecular Magnets and Catalysts Based on Transition Metal Complexes) funded by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia through the program IDEAS was presented in the show "Science to industry" (Nauka privredi) on RTV (Radio-television of Vojvodina). Dr. Matija Zlatar, principal research fellow and PI, and Milica Savić, junior research assistant, presented the goals and basic concepts behind the TMMagCat project and, at the same time, promoted our institute and part of the research carried out at ICTM.

BIOLAWEB project – the first activities

BIOLAWEB - "Boosting Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy in Water Biomonitoring" Twining project aims to strengthen the research and innovation capacity of the University of Belgrade -Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy in biodiversity assessment and biomonitoring.  The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101079234. The kick-off meeting, the first Expert visit related to the development of a tailor-made Scientific Strategy for UB-ICTM, and the first workshop on project management were held in Belgrade, at the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (ICTM) in the period from November 22 to 24, 2022. These activities brought together researchers and research-supporting staff from the University of Belgrade, the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (UB-ICTM), the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), and the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA). A brief report on the first events within the BIOLAWEB project is attached.
