The success of our researchers - a recent publication in the journal: Applied Catalysis B: Environmental

We congratulate our colleagues, Dr. Filip Vlahović and Dr. Biljana Dojčinović, as well as their co-authors on the paper: "Design of an ethidium bromide control circuit supported by deep theoretical insight" (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apcatb.2023.122819), which was published in the prestigious journal Applied Catalysis B: Environmental (IF = 24.319).

In this publication, the authors focused on the synthesis and application of Eu-doped MnWO4 nanomaterial in an electrochemical advanced oxidation process (EAOP) for the removal of ethidium bromide from wastewater. In addition, the authors have developed an efficient analytical tool to monitor this process. The results are enriched with theoretical insights based on Density Functional Theory (DFT). The analytical procedure developed in this work can serve as a strong foundation for developing disposable ethidium bromide sensors (together with a platform for its removal) and thus contribute to improving ecological technologies and environmental protection.

In addition to the excellent results achieved, this study's importance reflects the fact that the work was carried out entirely at the University of Belgrade - by combining the multidisciplinary knowledge of colleagues from three different institutions.

We congratulate our colleagues on this outstanding scientific achievement and wish them much success in further research!

ICTM and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences signed a cooperation agreement

On 05/04/2023, the Faculty of Organizational Sciences organized a ceremonial signing of contracts with three institutes of the University of Belgrade - the Institute for Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy, and ICTM. The Faculty of Organizational Sciences, as a leading national institution in the development of information technologies and management, will contribute to improving the work of ICTM and the process of technological transfer and the development of the national innovation system through cooperation.

The success of our researchers - Dr. Maja Pagnacco, part of the team on the ARTEMIS project approved for funding under the 2022 EIC Pathfinder call

As part of the 2022 EIC Pathfinder call, the European Innovation Council has selected 44 projects to finance with a total of 167 million euros. Among the selected projects is the ARTEMIS project, in which researchers from Serbia collaborate with colleagues from ten scientific institutions from six European countries. The coordinating country is Italy. The leader of the Serbian team, which has six members, is Dr. Branko Kolarić from the Institute of Physics. Among the team members is our colleague Dr. Maja Pagnacco, Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, Department of Catalysis. The project titled "Molecular Materials for Integrated Quantum Light Sources on a Chip," whose acronym is ARTEMIS has been accepted in the field of quantum informatics and sensors.

Congratulations to colleagues on the approved project! We wish them a lot of success in realizing the planned research!

BIOLAWEB workshop on writing successful European project proposals, financial management, and project reporting at ICTM (April 4-6, 2023)

The 3-day workshop within the BIOLAWEB project was held by Hervé Dumont, Antoine Moatti, and Louise Vaast from the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) at ICTM in Belgrade. Interactive courses were intended for the International Cooperation and Project Office (ICPO) staff, experienced and early-stage researchers at ICTM. The audience was pleased to hear about launching the new Annotated Grant Agreement, a user guide for the EU Model Grant Agreements, on 1st April 2023 and to find out how to build a competitive proposal for different European programs. On the second and third days, the workshop attendees were trained in financial management, project reporting, and preparation of consortium agreement.
