The success of our researchers - Gold Medal for the best innovation in the field of new technologies

At the XVI International Salon of Inventions and New Technologies "New Time" in Sevastopol, the Russian Federation, in the competition of 27 registered countries, the team in which Milena Milošević and Jovanka Kovačina were engaged won the Gold Medal for the best innovation in the field of new technologies for the innovation "Eco-friendly technology for gel-coat and fireproofing material production using bio-renewable and waste materials."

The innovation is a joint work of the company Sinteza smola d.o.o., the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy-National Institute of the Republic of Serbia. It represents the development of new ecologically and economically acceptable technologies to produce gel coatings and materials that reduce flammability based on unsaturated polyester resins from bio-renewable sources. The products can be applied in various industries (construction, mining, polymer processing, etc.). The authors of the innovation are Aleksandar Marinković, Milutin Milosavljević, Tihomir Kovačević, Jovanka Kovačina, Milena Milošević, Aleksandar Jovanović, Slobodan Petrović. Participation of ICTM in Erasmus + KA103 - European Mobility

ICTM has been participating in Erasmus programs since 2017 when the opportunity for our country to participate in these activities was opened. In the project cycle 2020/21-2021/22, our institute was allocated funds for five mobilities within the Erasmus + KA103 (European Mobility) program. These funds will finance our researchers' visits to the top scientific institutes in Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, and Croatia. A list of accepted cooperation proposals is attached.

The success of our researchers - participation in a project approved for funding under the Special research program COVID – 19

Within Special research program COVID, Serbian Science Foundation will financially support 14 projects – 11 from biomedicine sciences, 2 from the economy, social and psychological sciences and management of complex systems and 1 from biomedical-engineering and informational technologies, with 2,000 000.0 euros of the total budget. On the one of the granted projects from University of Belgrade - Faculty of Chemistry, with prof dr Radomir Saičić as Principal Investigator (SMART Repurposing - Small Molecule Anti-RNA-virus Therapy. Repurposing Iminosugars and Chloroquine Analogues Against COVID19), two of our colleagues from Department of Chemistry, Dr Dejan Opsenica and Sandra Šegan are engaged as participants. Agreement on cooperation between ICTM and the Institute of Information Technologies Kragujevac

On Thursday, September 17, 2020. the Agreement on Scientific and Business-Technical Cooperation of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy and the Institute of Information Technologies Kragujevac (http://iit.kg.ac.rs) was signed. By signing the Agreement, the Contracting Parties undertook to cooperate through building scientific capacities that define joint work on national and international projects, as well as providing conditions for young scientists to engage in scientific research and professional work. The signing of this document was attended by the Rector of the University of Kragujevac, Prof. Dr. Nenad Filipović, representatives of the Institute of Information Technology Kragujevac - Dr. Biljana Šmit, Assistant Research Professor and Dr. Dubravka Živković, research associate, as well as representatives of the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy - Dr. Željko Čupić, Research Professor and Dr. Uroš Andjelković, Associate Research Professor.
